The inaugural episode of the Clockwork Oranje podcast is up! In it, we tell the story of Euro 2008 and speak to Jeroen Janssen from Total Football Festival.
In each episode prior to Euro 2020 of this podcast from Clockwork Oranje, we will tell the story of how the Netherlands fared at a European Championship and interview guests about their own memories of it.
We hope to have told the stories of all of our favourites tournaments by June, at which point our focus will switch to Euro 2020 itself; hopefully, it’ll be the best story of all!
This week, we take a look back at Euro 2008, where Marco van Basten’s side, containing the likes of Edwin Van der Sar, Ruud van Nistelrooy and a young Wesley Sneijder, were drawn in the group of death alongside Italy and France.
We also have a chat with Jeroen Janssen from Total Football Festival, a festival that takes place in the Netherlands each year. He tells us what it is, how it came to be, his favourite memories from it and of course his memories of Euro 2008.
